This dream began almost two decades ago, sparked by my first visit to a quilting retreat. Over the years, my deep love for attending quilting retreats, with their camaraderie and creative flow, fueled a desire for something more – an elevated experience of true indulgence and luxury.
Sew Cool Retreat was born from this aspiration, a sanctuary merging the warmth of quilting with top-notch amenities. From high-quality linens and luxurious bath products to a selection of the finest coffees, every detail is meticulously curated. Recognizing the joy of immediate access to fabrics, I ensured Sew Cool Retreat boasts a fully stocked on-site quilt shop, allowing guests to seamlessly transition from inspiration to creation.
Turning this dream into reality required unwavering support from family and friends, and I’m eternally grateful for their belief in my vision. The journey was softened by the knowledge that I had a strong support system. Quilting friends played an instrumental role, emphasizing the power of community and shared dreams.

But let’s step back a bit to my quilting roots. My quilting obsession began unexpectedly on a retreat 18 years ago, while on a scrapbook retreat with quilters present. I had always had the desire to make a few quilts so my grandkids would fight over them. When I saw quilters at work on fun and sassy quilt tops, it sparked my desire to quilt. I borrowed a sewing machine, a quilt pattern, and got fabric to start my first quilt top. As my scrapbooks can attest, I’ve never looked back. Quilting and I are a match made in creative heaven, much like my affinity for fine wine (and a little more wine, for good measure).
Raised in Southeast Texas, where my mom was a masterful hostess, I inherited a love for cooking, entertaining, and creating memorable experiences. This sense of hospitality and a desire for the perfect getaway paved the way for Sew Cool Retreat, where luxury meets creativity. It’s not just about quilting; it’s a sensorial journey where plush surroundings and top-tier amenities create an atmosphere of refined indulgence.
